Trebarwith Strand is reached by a short easy section of coastal path. It is a cul de sac ending at a great slate floor that rolls seaward towards sand. Or it is an unpredictable pool of brine. Trebarwith Strand is tidal. Some surf it, some laze on it, many simply watch its tidal rhythm.

The route rises over farmland amongst a herd of fine Devon reds. Pause to look back and admire the view. Then duck under a low avenue of hawthorn. A ruined mill wheel rots slowly in foliage as the path begins to level out.

Trebarwith Village is a farmhouse and a cluster of cottages. Geese guard the farmhouse, a red post box has been built into a slate wall.

There follows farmland - a long series of field and stile, then tarmac.

A peaceful stroll through woodland leads to Trelake Lane. At the centre of Treknow a trough still overflows with water from a spring. This is from where the locals of yesteryear drew their water. A short and lovely loop.
